*Harafukururu is a Japanese idiom with the meaning, “If I don’t tell someone, I’ll just explode!”
Today in our Topic Discussion class, we had the theme “harafukururu” — with ten volunteers, AKP students spoke of the hardships of living in Japanese society and stressful things that have happened to them while in Japan.
There are a lot of unspoken rules in society for both Japanese students and study abroad students. Sometimes it can feel constraining! It seems that after class, students headed to the cafeteria together to continue the conversation.
Volunteers, thank you for coming!
