Kansaiben Lecture #1

Today we had our first lecture of the year on Kansaiben. This lecture, the students learned about the change in sounds and the vocab differences between Tokyoben and Kansaiben.

The professor was Miyuki Nishimata, from KCJS (Kyoto Consortium for Japanese Studies).
Here, they changed Tokyoben to Kansaiben. Everyone was surprised at “arahen” (which is the Kansai equivalent of “nai”)!
Try to use the Kansaiben you learned today with your host family!
