Kanji Museum

9/29/2017

Students visited the Kanji Museum as part of a Japanese class field trip.

Manyougana (Chinese kanji used to write phonetically in Ancient Japan) exhibit

The museum employee explains the exhibit

A Japanese typewriter! Looks difficult…
On the second floor, there are lots of games. Huang-san is really good at this!

Reading the kanji for fish names makes you hungry for sushi!

At the workshop, students made stamps of their favorite kanji.

雅 (elegant)

Will it work?

Students also learned some calligraphy.

Once you learn to write 永 (eternal), you’ll be able to write anything!

It’s a little difficult if you’re left handed.

We had a lot of fun!
